정정 Rewritten after SEC review: CORZW is a warrant rather than common stock; unsupported valuation, macro, and trade-level claims were removed.

CORZW Is a Core Scientific Warrant, Not Common Stock

CORZW trading volume was recorded internally at 6.5 times its 20-day average on September 21, 2026. The first fact investors need is that CORZW is not Core Scientific common stock. Core Scientific's SEC filings identify CORZ as the common stock and CORZW as a listed warrant exercisable for one common share at an exercise price of $6.81.

Why the security type changes the analysis

A warrant's value depends on its contractual terms as well as the price and volatility of the underlying common stock. Metrics such as price-to-book, return on equity, or debt ratios belong to the operating company and cannot be applied directly to the warrant as though CORZW itself were a share of common stock. A raw volume spike also does not establish a directional view.

The September 10 Form 8-K lists three separate Nasdaq securities: CORZ common stock, CORZW warrants with a $6.81 exercise price, and CORZZ warrants with a $0.01 exercise price. Keeping those instruments separate prevents a basic category error when comparing prices or discussing valuation.

Recent company disclosures provide operating context

On August 13, Core Scientific completed its acquisition of Polaris DS for approximately $444.3 million in cash, subject to adjustments. The agreement allowed for another $40 million payment if an additional 40 megawatts of firm electric capacity became available by December 31, 2026.

On August 25, the company entered a credit agreement providing a revolving facility of up to $100 million and a letter-of-credit facility of up to $500 million. The filing said no amounts were outstanding under either facility on the closing date. It also required at least $150 million of quarterly liquidity and a minimum $3 billion market capitalization before a revolving-facility borrowing.

On September 10, Core Scientific reported the status of electrical capacity at Texas data centers. The disclosure described 297 megawatts of existing power and 74 megawatts of additional planned power at Denton, along with existing and planned capacity at Pecos and Hunt, but several allocations remained conditional or subject to the ERCOT process.

What to verify before interpreting CORZW activity

  • the current CORZ common-stock price relative to the warrant's $6.81 exercise price;
  • the warrant's expiration, redemption, and adjustment provisions in the governing agreement;
  • changes in the number of outstanding warrants and common shares;
  • whether project capacity described as conditional later receives final allocation.
